The team chose a unique and more diverse open world than Cyrodiil’s Oblivion Imperial Province, which game director and executive producer Todd Howard considered less interesting by comparison.

Skyrim was developed using the Creation Engine, rebuilt specifically for the game.

The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time and ignore or delay the main storyline indefinitely.

During the game, the player completes quests and develops the character, improving skills. The game takes place 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in Skyrim, the northernmost province of Tamriel. The main story of the game revolves around the player character’s quest to defeat Alduin the World Eater, a dragon that foretold the destruction of the world. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011. This is the fifth major set in The Elder Scrolls series after The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Nine man years in the making, Arena heralds a new level of RPGs: 3D gameworld with realistic weather effects, cool spellcasting system where you can create thousands of spells. Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is a Role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. One of the most all-encompassing RPGs ever created didn't succeed commercially due to hefty hardware requirements for its time.
