Astrolab was written from scratch as well. Cavern's script was written from scratch and this biome looks slightly different from the biome of the vanilla game but otherwise offers the same features. the Ramparts had a pretty substantial change to its generation script. This is because I had to edit the level generation code for every map to some extent in order to fix bugs and crashes and add features.

You may occasionally encounter janky level generation. Why version 1.4? Because in my opinion this version was the most fun I've had while playing this game. This was another thing that factored into my motivation to make this mod. Why not roll back to version 1.4? You can absolutely do this, but you will be missing out on new content (new items), bugfixes and quality of life features that were added post 1.4. Obsession with perfect balance has no place in a roguelite (or roguelike) game. You must plan ahead and skip mobs if you want to take all the curses.Ī good roguelite should give the player the ability to become powerful, but at a risk. When the focus of development changed I decided to make this mod to add the cursed chests back. My motivation (you can skip this part if you're not interested): I like the risk-reward gameplay that earlier Dead Cells versions offered with the cursed chests. Paid DLC biomes are not included, as well as the Derelict Distillery. The mod includes biomes from vanilla and Rise of the Giant DLC. It is balanced mainly on 4/5BC although there is a way to decrease the difficulty for lower BC players. This mod adds cursed chests from patch 1.4 ( Who's the Boss update) back into biomes.
